Portal Test Chamber 15 in 6 portals. Full screen HD.
The third of the least portal challenge (LPC) run of Portal.
This chamber isn't as straight forward as the last two. So it isn't easy to come up with a good solution...
In the first room you can get on the other side of the glass by jumping over it, or by using portal bumping. I used portal bumping to be able to shoot a camera off straight away afterwards (if you've jumped over it you need to shoot 2 portals instead of 1 to get a your hands on a camera, because of the fizzler). Which method you choose doesn't really matter, it won't effect your portal count in the end.
You can solve the energy ball puzzle without using any portals by redirecting the energy ball. It isn't easy, although it isn't the hardest thing to do. After the platform lowered, I shot another camera down, bringing my portal count up to 4. Note that if I had jumped over the first glass wall, I would've had the exact same count here.
To get across the second glass wall, you don't have to use any portals at all. You can stack 2 cameras on top of each other, and then simply jump over the wall. Positioning the cameras, and making sure they won't fall over takes a while, but it's not hard to do. You can get over this wall by wallcliming as well, or using a physics glitch of the camera. Using those tricks can get you a total portal count of 5, although I'm not going to use them: see my challenge rules.
The bile part is the hardest to pull of in my opinion. You'll sink to the bottom straight away if you don't keep moving towards the wall. And you'll have to be lucky to get into the portal you've shot. Keep in mind that you'll fly straight out if you enter it with too much momentum.
And finally, the last room isn't easy as well because of the last jump before the elevator. You don't have to jump to the platform right away. You can take a little detour as is shown in this vid.
Hope this helps a bit. This vid by Iijil is similar to mine, so feel free to check it out as well.

[Portal] Ch. 14 in 2 portals
Portal Test Chamber 14 in 2 portals. Full screen HD.
The second of the least portal challenge (LPC) run of Portal.
There's not much that can be said about this chamber... It's fairly obvious that you can skip more than half of the level. And finding out how isn't difficult at all. This time things can't be improved by using wall climbing, or using glitches.
So yeah, this concludes this short write up. I'll have some more things to say about the next chamber though.

[Portal] Ch. 13 in 2 portals
Portal Test Chamber 13 in 2 portals. Full screen HD.
This the first of my least portals challenge (LPC) collection of Portal!
It's all about getting the first cube without using portals. The rest isn't hard to pull off at all. But getting that first cube can be tricky. You have to make sure that you stand on the button, run a little forward, and jump towards it. Be sure to try and grab the top of the cube. If you time it right, you'll get a little boost from the button that's coming back to it's original position. It might take you a few times to get it right.
After that, it's pretty self-explanatory. The energy ball redirect isn't the hardest thing to do. I prefer to hold to cube like I did in the video, not only tilt it forward like in this video by DemonStrate.
You can finish this run with 0 portals if you wallclimb. But like I mentioned in a previous post about my challenge rules, I don't use that because it's too game breaking. Nevertheless, if you want to see how it's done, click here for a video.

[Prelude] Ch. 03 in 16 sec
Portal: Prelude Test Chamber 03 in 16 seconds. Full screen HD.
I tried to improve Monk3ySee's 17 second run, by jumping directly from the small raised platform next to the Portal gun, instead of jumping on the Portal gun holder itself. Not easy to pull off, but doable enough.
As you can see, no use of ABH to speed things us. The main reason that I'm not using it is because I'm not skilled enough to ABH whenever I want to. The second reason is that I can't really see big improvements from using ABH.
Kingpin however, who is very skilled with ABH, does see some improvements in the first 2 rooms. In the record discussion topic on the Prelude forum, he said that he thinks you might shave off a second by doing so.
Guess we won't know unless he tries is, 'cause I'm not going to attempt it myself. If there's anything I'm sure of, it's that 15 seconds isn't possible by trying to perfect my method.

[Prelude] Challenge Records
If you find yourself thinking about ways to improve your least portal, time and steps challenges, then the Challenge Ladder is something you might like. NykO18 provided the challenge enthousiasts with a way to compete and improve.
You can find the Challenge Ladder here. If you're the first to break a record, you'll be credited for your efforts. I've got a few on my name, though for most of the least portal challenges, other people beat me to it.

I was even lucky enough to make it to the credits of Portal: Prelude! After the creation of the ladder, Prelude was patched to version 1.1.0 and now already to 1.1.5. NykO18 added the people who had been rather active on the leader boards. I'm really honoured that I made it to the credits! Most of the people still active on the ladder are way better than I am, so I'm glad he decided to put my name up anyway.

It would be rather pointless to make a blogpost about my current records, 'cause they aren't maxed out yet at all. So a better idea is to keep posting the new records.

[Prelude] Introduction
Portal: Prelude is an unofficial prequel of Portal. It takes place before GLaDOS took over Aperture Science. Back in those days, test subjects were being monitored by regular employees. Because their work was so repetitive and tedious, they decided to build an artificial intelligence that could replace them. The Prelude team includes NykO18, Capitaine Mousse and moroes.
This isn't a map pack, it's a full game with story mode, challenges and advanced chambers, just like Portal. Check out the trailer!

This game isn't as easy as Portal is. Unlike the original game, the first test chambers aren't a sort of tutorial. In my opinion this is a good thing. You are expected to have completed Portal, so going through all the basics again would be pointless. You're thrown right into the action in Chamber 01, in front of 4 turrets, which is a bit harsh though. I've seen people complain about the difficulty, especially of the first chambers. The main reason is the skill requirement to get past Chamber 03. But don't worry, it gets easier after that until the last chambers (although that isn't in the line of logic...)

Portal: Prelude introduces some new game play elements. The first one is the electric field. Actually, this was already used in the Portal flash map pack, but it hadn't been used in a 3D environment before.

Another new element is the use of alternate gravity. In certain places, objects can fall up instead of down, or even left or right. Even though you quickly figure out what to do, it's nice to see some new game play elements in Portal.

Because GLaDOS hasn't been activated yet, regular people comment on how you're doing in the test chambers. So the developers couldn't use GLaDOS' already existing lines of text. They didn't want to record the lines themselves because of their French accent. So they opted for speech technology. Obviously it doesn't sound as nice as regular voices, and it lacks emotion.
Like in Portal, you can do challenges, and play the advanced chambers. Now you can choose from 16 of the 19 chambers to try your luck on the least portal, time and steps challenges. The good thing is that you've got a whole lot more challenges. The bad thing in my opinion is that the last chambers (the longest ones) are also included, and most of the time I don't feel like grinding those 'cause of their length.

In all I think this is a great mod. I didn't have any expectations at all about the story mode, and I must admit that I was surprised (in a positive way) about the story. My main critique is the voice acting and the lip syncing, although a lot of people don't seem to like the difficulty as well, which is something I don't mind.
If you're looking for a challenge after playing Portal, get this mod. It's completely free, and can be downloaded here. For more info you can visit Portal: Prelude's official website.

Portal Prelude Mod GLaDOS NykO18
[Portal] Introduction
What is Portal? It's game created by Valve software. The best way to give you an idea what the game is about, is to watch the Portal trailer.
In the story mode you are a female test subject, Chelle, who has to make her way through a series of test chambers.

You have to find ways to finish test chambers making use of your Portal gun. The idea if fairly simple, but it takes a while to get used to. Via these test chambers you are introduced to the different things you can do with the handheld Portal divice.
You are constantly being monitored by GLaDOS, an artificial intelligence constructed by Aperture Science. You have no idea how you got yourself into these chambers, but things slowly start to make sense as you progress in the game.

If you want to have an idea of what the game looks like, you can give my screenshots a look. They can spoil the game if you haven't play it, so beware.
Other than the story mode, you've got the challenges and the advanced chambers. The challenges take place in 6 of the 19 test chambers in the game, and in each of the chambers you can try 3 different challenges: least portals, least time, least steps. If you finish a certain challenge you are rewarded a medal, depending on how good your run was.
The advanced chambers are more diffucult versions of those 6 test chambers. Here your goal is the same as in the story mode: you just have to make it to the end of the level.
